The Skies He Loved
My late husband spent most of his life navigating the skies of the world as a Japan Airlines
(JAL) captain. Yet, of all the places he flew, none held a more sacred place in his heart than
Hawaii—its breathtaking oceans and the warm, embracing spirit of Aloha.
A Ten-Year Miracle : Blessed by Medicine and Aloha
When confronted with the daunting battle of Stage 4 cancer, we witnessed a true miracle. Thanks to the extraordinary care of Japan’s leading medical pioneers, led by Dr. Yasuyuki Yoshizawa, former President of Tokyo Medical and Dental University (now Institute of Science Tokyo), he was granted ten rich, beautiful, and irreplaceable years.
Yet, this miracle was not achieved by medicine alone. The people of Hawaii and the warm, embracing spirit of the islands wrapped him in love, giving him the strength to live each day to the fullest.
(We are deeply honored that both esteemed doctors, Dr. Yasuyuki Yoshizawa and pulmonology specialist Dr. Jin Kuramochi, will personally conduct the clinical assessments and diagnoses for this health screening.)
